Starting out...

Imagine you're someone who enjoys watching a lot of tv and taking a lot of naps.  You enjoy zumba but otherwise don't really get a whole lot of other exercise.  Now imagine you wake up one day and decide you want to start running races.  Thats me.  I'll be the first one to tell you that after I had my daughter 6 years ago I really just "let myself go".  I've become totally out of shape and ignored it for a long time.  One day my friend Trish and I decided we needed a goal - and we wanted to become runners.  Now, running might look simple....but that is TOTALLY not true.  To go from sitting around all day to trying to run a distance longer than 15 feet is really a challenge.  It's a torturous process but I keep telling myself that one day I'm going to wake up and run and I'm going to LOVE it.  I just have to keep it up until I get there.  We decided that to stay motivated we had to start running 5k's.  Our plan is to run one every month and hopefully be prepared enough to run Broad Street next year, which is a 10 mile race.  Goals are fun!  So, wish me luck, sit back and observe the show...it's going to be a bumpy ride.
